Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag 2018!

Hello everyone! Since it’s already June I decided to answer these 15 questions of this Book Tag created by Read Like Wildfire and Earl Grey Books. I think that it is a good way of reflecting how My Reading Year has been so far and what has to be done until the year is over so, let’s get started!

1. Best book you have read so far

33784373I have already read many amazing books this year but the one that stands out to me the most is definitely Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco!! Suprisingly, this one was my VERY FIRST READ of this year which makes me even more happier. There isn’t anything better than starting the new year with a 5 star read.

2. Best sequel you have read so far

A_Court_of_Mist_and_Fury_-_CoverNow, I could tell you how amazing the book mentioned before is but I’ll pick up another one to not repeat myself; A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas! While thinking that the first book in this series is a bit overrated Acomaf really deserves the hype. There’s a new setting and new characters I really enjoyed reading about. Winter by Marissa Meyer was also an equally amazing read I gave a rating of 4 stars+ .

3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black – I have heard mixed things about this but I want to try it out for myself and see who this cruel prince is.

Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody – Emma from Emmmabooks has raved about this so much and the whole concept of this story just sounds exactly what I would want to read

War Storm by Victoria Aveyard – The final book of the Red Queen series is out and I have not read it yet!! I want to know what happens to Mare, Cal and especially Maven. I am already imagining the worst. Help.

4. Most anticipated book for the second half of 201830375937

If there’s one book I want in my hands right now, then it’s this one. I miss Audrey Rose and Thomas so much that I am already considering  a re-read for both of the first books in September. I am so excited for Escaping from Houdini, I know I am gonna love it and I can’t wait to see how they are going to solve this case and how their relationship is going to develop. This series is one one of my all time favourites and thinking about the last book coming out next year makes me emo. (。•́︿•̀。)

5. Biggest Disappointment

Wonder Woman Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo. As someone who really likes everything that has to do with Wonder Woman I was really disappointed by this book. It was a weaker 4 star read for me and I expected a lot more from it. Here’s the spoiler free-review.

6. Biggest Suprise

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir!! I am so glad that I picked this one up after seeing it at my local library. I had heard about the book before but had not been sure about whether this was something for me or not but it turned out that all the worries were for nothing. I tend to not enjoy books with dystopian elements to them but this one’s different!  Elias and Laia are part of my all time favourite bookish couples and the story was so interesting and well thought out that I finished reading it in a few days.

7. Favourite new author

Probably Sabaa Tahir! I am following her on Instagram and I feel like she really does like roleplaying…

8. Newest fictional Crush

So technically the first on the list isn’t really new since I read the first book last year but I am gonna mention him anyway; It’s Mister Thomas Cresswell, the sassy male main character and forensic student of the SJTR books. The second is Elias Veturius- one I have also already mentioned before.

9. Newest favourite character

Stevie Bell from Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson. Stevie is a student at Ellingham School who is determined to solve a case from the 1960’s nobody else could. And although this seems impossible and dangerous she keeps looking for evidence and makes her way step by step through Ellingham Academy where murder happens again. Also RHYSAND’S INNER CIRCLE:

10. Book that made you happy

Wolkenschloss by Kerstin Gier is a book I read recently and really enjoyed. It’s so funny, fast-paced and follows a female trainee called Fanny who works at a luxurious in the mountains of Switzerland. There she has to deal with an about 9 year old boy who can be as devious as the devil himself, a British hotel thief who first meets her when opening a wardrobe and many other things. It’s a cute standalone perfect for the winter season!

11. Book that made you cry

None yet! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

12. Favourite movie adapion

P-swingI am still reading Pride and Prejudice at the moment and when I was in the middle of the book I watched the 2005 movie adaption with Keira Knightley which I did very much enjoy but the romance is shown very differently than in Austen’s original work. It makes you want to read the book! The scenery was so beautiful and it is definitely a nice interpretation of the classic.

13. Favourite review you’ve written so far

I really like the following review of which I wrote a couple of weeks ago : Why the phrase ‚time is money‘ is 100% true in the world of Everless ⏳

14. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far

I am in love with this cover!! The gold and silver motives fit perfectly to the black background. It’s too bad the book couldn’t convince me 100%.

15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

I don’t have a specific list of books I NEED to finish but I already have plans for re-reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Gryffindor Edition) and The Night Circus in Winter. Maybe I should try and read the books from 3. as well…

I am happy that I was finally able to do a Book Tag again! Especially this Tag is really good if you want to see how far you’ve already come with your Reading Challenge and books you actually planned on reading this year. I am tagging AlexHelena and CristinaBelle and Ally. I would like to see your answers to these questions but I also tag all of you guys who want to do the Tag! See ya-
